Matt Cox, an aspiring psychology student from Acworth, recently became the 5,000th student to be enrolled at Georgia Highlands this fall. Cox will attend classes in Cartersville. He received a GHC gift bag to celebrate the milestone.
Highlands enrollment has more than doubled since 2003. Since then, the growing institution opened a campus in Cartersville in 2005 and expanded into both Paulding and Douglas Counties this fall. The Cartersville facility has already reached maximum capacity and plans to add a second building are in the 2011 budget plans, which will be presented to the legislature this fall.
