The mission of Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) is to provide accessible, high quality technical education and workforce development opportunities that lead to careers in technology, business, health and public services. In order to achieve this mission, GNTC is focusing its attention on the students of Northwest Georgia.

In May, eight high school students from across Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade and Walker counties received scholarships totaling $4,000.

These scholarships are made possible due to the hard work of the Georgia Northwestern Technical College Foundation.

“The scholarship assistance for the high school graduates is one example of how the foundation assists deserving students in achieving their potential at GNTC. We are investing in students that live in our communities and help to build a stronger workforce,” said institutional advancement director Jason Gamel.

The recipients of the Foundation Scholarship this year are Jonia Taylor at Gordon Lee High School; Jodi Hamilton at Chattooga County High School; Jacob Liles at Lafayette High School; Sara Buffington and Luke Daniels at Dade County High School; John Aaron Smith at Trion High School; Daniel Hughes at Heritage High School; Caitlin Johnson at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School; and Samuel Steadman at Ringgold High School.
