You can hardly turn on the national news these days without seeing screaming people – upset with the Healthcare Reform bill that is making it’s way through Congress. Some have charged that the protesters at health care reform Town-Hall meetings are plants from insurance and pharmacuetical companies, while others contend that they are simply tax-payers genuinly upset with the bill.
Congressman Phil Gingrey held a town-hall meeting in Rome yesterday that was for the most part civil. Gingrey, a Republican that represents Northwest Georgia including Chattooga County in Congress, opposes the President’s health care initiative. One person who was in favor of the President’s plan did receive some heckles from the crowd.
Representative Gingrey is scheduled to be at the Summerville Library for a meeting on health care reform before the end of the month.
