Congressman Phil Gingrey, a Republican who represents Northwest Georgia’s 11th Congressional district spoke with AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio about his recent town hall meeting in Summerville and about the health care bill that is making it’s way through congress.

The congressman said that his town hall meeting in Summerville last week was the most attended meeting he had ever held in Chattooga County and that people were concerned about the health care bill.

Gingrey told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that he didn’t think people were listening "very carefully" when they elected President Obama, especially his talk about health care.  Gingrey said "most of the people, I dont’ know that they were really listening very carefully to what his plans were in regard to health care….but I think people were looking at – you know American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, an absolute rock star, somebody who was a great speaker particulary when using a teleprompter…."
