AM 1180 Chattooga County radio has received confirmation from Governor Sonny Perdue’s press office that Summerville City Court Judge Sam Finster was sworn in at the state capitol today as Chattooga County’s State Court Judge.

Reports had circulated about the appointment since yesterday afternoon when, reportedly Mr. Finster contacted a Rome media outlet  to announce his appointment by the governor.  AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio was told by county officials yesterday evening that, according to Mr. Finster,  the appointment had been made and that Mr. Finster would be sworn in today in Atlanta.

When AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio contacted the governor’s press office this afternoon we were told that the governor’s office would not be making any official press release about the appointment.  However, the governor’s press office did call back and confirm that Mr. Finster was sworn in today.

AM 1180 Chattooga County radio asked the governor’s press office if there were any official photographs of the swearing in today; we were told that the press office was not aware of any official photos of the ceremony.
