The Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome has released their weekly accident with injuries report. An accident last week was caused by a driver falling asleep. According to the report, James Barnett of Trion told Troopers that he fell asleep while driving a F-250 Ford Delivery Truck owned by Compass U.S.A.
The accident happened on Highway 27 near the intersection of Farmersville Road. The report stated that Barnett struck a culvert and vaulted into the air travelling almost 42 feet before landing facing north off the east sholder of Highway 27.
Barnett was transported to Floyd Medical Center by Chattooga County EMS.
