The Georgia State Patrol Post in Rome has issued their weekly report on accidents with injuries in Chattooga County.

One accident was reported on Ridgeland Road on Sunday night.  According to the report, a 16 year old minor from LaFayette was travelling too fast for conditions when he lost control of his 2008 Dodge Nitro in a curve and left the roadway and struck a tree.  There were no citations issued in the single vehicle accident.

Another accident was reported on Saturday that involved a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by JoAnn Chochran of a Summerville address and a 2006 Ford Expedition driven by Avie Ann Winter of Summerville.  The accident report stated that while Cochran was attempting to turn off of Back Penn Road onto Highway 27 she struck the rear passenger side of Winter’s Expedition.  Cochran told troopers that she was blinded by the sun when she made the turn and never saw Winter’s vehicle.
