The Georgia State Patrol has released their weekly report on accidents in Chattooga County. Last Saturday there was an accident with injuries on Rocky Hollow Road near the intersection of Back Penn Road. According to the report Miguel Gonzalez of Summerville failed to negotiate a curve and struck a utility pole. He was transported to Floyd Medical Center by Chattooga County EMS.
There was a three car accident on Gore-Subligna Road last Thursday that involved a 2007 Mazda drivenby Tracy Payton of Menlo, a 1996 Toyota driven by Gwendlyn NIchols of Lyerly and a 2007 Ford F-150 Pickup driven by William Ruth of Rome. According to the report, the accident occured when Nichols attempted a left hand turn into a private drive. State Troopers said that Payton was following too closely and was unable to stop. As a result of the impact Payton’s vehicle was pushed into the path of the truck driven by Ruth.
