Officers are looking for anyone who might have witnessed a Saturday night wreck on Martha Berry Highway that left a Rome man seriously injured.
According to Georgia State Patrol officer Donnie Cochran:

Brian Lewis, 20, of Rome was taken to Floyd Medical Center and was in serious condition on Sunday.

Lewis was driving a Hyundai, and a GMC truck also involved in the wreck was driven by Zachary Spears of Lindale.

Cochran said there was a third pair of fresh skid marks on the highway when he arrived on the scene near Berry College. He believes a witness could help clear conflicting reports from the drivers.

“There was too much traffic for there not to have been a witness,” Cochran said.

The Georgia State Patrol plans to send a specialized crash reconstruction team out to the area today to get a better idea of what happened, Cochran said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Rome GSP post at 706-295-6004.
