Floyd County police are investigating an incident at Pepperell High on Tuesday where a student was allegedly in possession of a gun.

According to Cpl. Greg Beck of the Floyd County Police Department, a male juvenile was taken into custody around 3 p.m. after having a gun at the school.

He was still being questioned by police as of Tuesday night. Beck did not have an age on the juvenile, or why he may have brought the gun to school. “Detectives are still investigating, but the situation was neutralized and nobody was hurt,” Beck said.

He said “any situation with a firearm on a school campus is a very serious offense.”
