Conflicting stories left Georgia State Troopers unable to determine who was at fault in an accident that occured last Saturday on Back Valley Road in Lyerly.  According to the report from Trooper J.E. Massingill, Wayne Ray Chadwick of Lyerly was travelling north on Back Valley Road when he came upon a Deutz-Allis Tractor with a hayrake driven by Richard Lamar Norman of Dallas, Georgia.  The hayrake swiped Chadwick’s truck in a curve.  When Trooper Massingill arived on the scene he found that Chattooga County Sheriff’s deputies had allowed Norman to leave the scene of the accident with the tractor and hayrake.  Trooper Massingill stated that Chadwick claimed the tractor was in his lane.  When Massingill interviewed Norman who had been driving the tractor he stated that Chadwick was in his lane.  No one was cited or injured in the incident.
