A Henagar man has been sentenced to a prison term, after pleading guilty to three counts of Attempted Sexual Abuse of a Child under the age of 12.  Forty Two year old Anthony Charles Davis was sentenced by Circuit Judge Randall Cole, to 10 years in prison on each charge, to run consecutively, for a total of 30 years. 

He was ordered to serve five years in State Prison, followed by five years of Supervised Probation. After his release, Davis must complete a Sex Offender treatment program, and also register as a Sex Offender.

Assistant District Attorney Bob Johnston said that Davis was originally charged with four counts of 1st Degree Sodomy, involving two victims, in November, 2008  – he added that Davis changed his not guilty plea to guilty in a plea agreement, prior to sentencing.

Dekalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris stated that on October 10th of last year (2008), the Sheriff’s Office received information from the DeKalb Department of Human Resources, concerning a report of sexual abuse – Sheriff Harris said Investigators then accompanied DHR caseworkers to Davis’ home in Henagar to perform an interview. Harris said during the investigation, it was revealed that Davis had allegedly engaged in sexual acts with the victims.
