A spokesperson with the Georgia Department of Transportation notified AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio around 6:30 PM on Thursday evening that Highway 337 just north of Menlo is now open. The DOT took the last detour signs down in Walker County on Thursday evening and made the anouncement that the road is now open for traffic.
Highway 337 was closed for around 4 weeks while the DOT worked to repair a sunken tile on the road. The weather and delays brought about by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife all caused the long repair process on the main thoroughfair from Menlo to LaFayette.
