Hundreds of people are expected to attend the Northwest Georgia/Shorter College Job and Career Fair at The Forum on Thursday.

As of Tuesday afternoon, 650 people had registered for the event, according to Britt Madden, corporate liaison for Shorter’s Professional Studies program. Madden said the Georgia Department of Labor had advised organizers that the job fair could draw between 2,000 and 6,000 job seekers.

Seventy-five employers and resource vendors will also participate, Madden said. Not all employers will be hiring at the event. Some will discuss future employment opportunities, and other organizations will provide educational resources, according to GDOL.

Shorter College is partnering with The Forum and GDOL’s Rome Career Center in the event, which will last from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Job seekers are encouraged to register for the event at online www.nwgashortercollegejobfair.com, but pre-registration is not required, Madden said. People can register on-site Thursday.
