The U.S. Forrest Service is expected to be in Chattooga County this week to inspect the work that has been done by the Chattooga County Public Works crews on The Narrows – the section of road that runs through U.S. Forrest land and connects the Subligna area with the Mountain View area.

The project is a joint effort between Chattooga County and the U.S. Forrest Service.  The Forrest Service has said that they will finish paving the road by year’s end.  Chattooga County Public Works Director Lamar Canada told AM 1180 on Tuesday that the county’s portion of the project is nearing completion.

The road will provide easy access for Subligna area residents that travel to Trion and LaFayette to work.  Also, Chattooga County emergency officials will be able to save time by using the route for ambulance service to the Subligna area.
