Superior Court Judge William Ralph Hill Jr. will not seek re-election. Judge Hill was appointed by Gov. Zell Miller as one of the four Superior Court judges of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit on Feb. 1, 1995.Since that time he has been re-elected three times without opposition and has served as a Superior Court judge for the past 13 years in the four counties of Walker, Dade, Chattooga and Catoosa, trying civil and criminal cases in the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the citizens of our four counties and the members of the Lookout Mountain Bar Association for the privilege of serving as one of your Superior Court judges,” Hill said. “I truly believe the Lord led me to this position to serve Him and the citizens of our four counties by doing equal justice and fair play to all our citizens. “Having reached 65 years of age, I truly believe that He is now leading me on to other service for Him in this season of my life,” Hill said. “I will, therefore, finish out this term, concluding almost 14 years as one of your Superior Court judges.” Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to serve you and your support and cooperation in the operation of our judicial system. It could not have been done without our Lord’s help and your assistance.” – Walker County Messenger
