Judge Jon Payne, probate judge and election superentindent in Chattooga County, spoke with AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio earlier this week about the upcoming elections and early voting.  Judge Payne said that there had been some confusion regarding the practice of many candidates of parking vehicles with political advertising in downtown Summerville close to the polling place for early voting – the old McGinnis Drug Store building.

According to Judge Payne, candidates can park their vehicles anywhere in public parking place so long as it is not during hours that the polling place is in operation.  Vehicles left overnight must be removed by 7:30 the following morning.  Judge Payne told AM 1180 Chattooga Radio News that very few of the candidates had contacted him with questions regarding campaign rules and regulations.  AM 1180 Chattooa Radio News will broadcast the complet interview with Judge Payne this afternoon at 12:45 following the trading post on a special Newsmakers Program.
