Many government offices and services along with some local businesses will be closed today for the July 4th Holiday.

The offices of the City of Summerville, Menlo, Lyerly and Trion are all closed today.  The City of Summerville closed their offices for a period of time yesterday so employees could attend the funeral of City Manager Grady McCalmon.  The Town of Trion closed their offices at noon yesterday for some repair work that needed to be done.

Chattooga County Commissoner Jason Winters said that the remote dumpster sights would remain open today but be closed on Saturday.  The transfer station on Stockade Road will also be open, however county offices and the courthouse will be closed today.
