According to the Georgia Department of Highway Safety there have been 1,674 traffic crashes with 466 injuries and 4 deaths as of midnight Sunday night during this Labor Day Holiday weekend. The department has predicted 1,725 traffic crashes with 975 injuries and 18 deaths for the 2009 Labor Day holiday travel period which began last Friday and ends tonight at midnight. Of the four fatalities one was reported by the Georgia State Patrol post in Jasper, one by the GSP in Gainesville, one by the GSP in Milledgeville and one by Cobb County Police.  There have been no fatalities so far reported from the Rome, LaFayette or Calhoun posts of the Georgia State Patrol.
