Freddy Lowe Jr. of Ga. 151. was indicted Tuesday by a Walker County Superior Court grand jury.
According to the Walker County clerk of court’s office, the indictments include two counts of aggravated assault (family violence), three counts of possessing a firearm during the commission or attempted commission of a crime, aggravated assault, burglary, false imprisonment, terroristic threats, and third-degree cruelty to children.
Lowe was arrested July 19 after a late-night hour-and-a-half standoff at his ex-wife’s house on Windsong Drive in LaFayette.
According to LaFayette detective Darin Kelley at the time of Lowe’s arrest:
Lowe forcefully entered the home with a 12-gauge shotgun late in the evening on July 19.
He appeared to be intoxicated and threatened to kill his ex-wife and his underage son, both of whom were in the house at the time, along with an 18-year-old friend of the son.
The two boys were able to get out of the house quickly and to safety. Lowe’s ex-wife was trapped inside the house with him, but did manage to call 911 in secret and alert authorities to her situation.
After about an hour and a half of negotiation, law enforcement was able to convince Lowe to come out of the house without carrying out any of his threats of harm.
