A LaFayette man was killed Thursday when the motorcycle he was driving was hit by a pickup truck. AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio reported the incident on Friday.  The wreck occured just north of the Chattooga County line.

According to Georgia State Patrol Post 41 in LaFayette:

Michael Lee Kelly, 52, was riding his motorcycle north on U.S. 27. A pickup truck traveling south hit the motorcycle as the truck driver attempted to turn onto Ga. 151. The truck was pulling a trailer. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m.

Kelly, who was thrown from the motorcycle, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Charges are pending against the truck driver, who was not identified. A Special Collusion Reconstruction Team, or SCRT, is investigating the accident.

Alcohol was not involved.
