A LaFayette High School student was taken into custody this week for hacking into the Walker County school system’s main website and posting pornography.

The 15-year-old ninth-grader was taken into custody for computer trespassing, according to Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson. The sheriff said the crime is a felony.

The student posted a video of a graphic sex act on the main page of the Walker County school system’s website Sept. 1, according to Walker County Schools technology supervisor Kim McCroskey.

He was questioned and released to his parents. He also has been suspended from school, Wilson said.

The hacker also accessed the LaFayette High School website the previous day, Aug. 31, prompting all Web pages to be taken down, according to McCroskey.

The case will be handled in Walker County Juvenile Court.
