THE SUMMERVILLE NEWS is reporting that officers from the Lavonia Police Department that had captured escaped inmate Johnny Mac Brown visited yesterday with Summerville resident Kellie Durden who had been kidnapped by Brown and forced to drive to Franklin County in Northeast Georgia.
The officers subdued Brown after a struggle and took him into custody. Brown is now being held in a high security prison awaiting court proceedings in both Franklin and Chattooga Counties for the crimes he committed after escaping from Hays State Prison.
AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio has not been able to get any statement from the Georgia Department of Corrections regarding the other escaped inmate Michael Tweedle. Tweedle was reportedly last seen in October in Adairsville shortly after the abduction of Durden.
