The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Leesburg man who had outstanding warrants. The arrest was made Saturday morning, April 2.
According to Mark Hicks, public information officer, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, a person came to the Cherokee County Detention to visit an inmate incarcer-ated there identified as Billy Ray Agan, a 22-year-old white male. Corrections Officers remembered the name to be a person that had outstanding warrants. Corrections Officers checked and found there were infact warrants on Agan. They then notified a deputy who responded to the and they took AGan into custody.
Agan will remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center until he appears in front of Cherokee County District Court Judge Sheri Carver. The warrant states Agan owes the County Court around $12,000 dollars in unpaid fines, Hicks said.
