This week big changes have been taking place in the administration of Chattooga County’s school system.  Dr. Dwight Pullen announced that he would be resigning at the end of his contract this June.  Pullen said that with his resignation the Board of Education could "move in the direction they want to go."

The Chattooga County Board of Education met on Thursday evening at their regular monthly work session and took no action on the superintendent’s resignation.

On Friday, Chattooga County School Principal Jimmy Lenderman released a statement to AM 1180 outlining his proposition to the Board of Education to serve as both school superintendent and high school principal for a period of one year. (See related story.)  It is not clear if the arrangement proposed by Mr. Lenderman would be acceptable with current state policy.

Board Chairman Eddie  Massey told AM1180 that there was "a lot of work" ahead of the Board of Education as they begin the process of choosing a new superintedent for the Chattooga County School System.
