Both the Chattooga County Republicans and Chattooga County Democrats are looking forward to this Saturday as some big names in Georgia politics make their way to Chattooga County.
It will be the second trip in this political season for both former Democratic Governor Roy Barnes and Republican Georgia Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine. Both men who are no strangers to state-wide political office are seeking the nominations of their parties to run for Georgia’s top job. Barnes and Oxendine are considered by many to be the front runners for the position, but the Democratic and Republican Primary is still two months away.
Commissioner Oxendine will address local Republicans at a breakfast meeting at Pop’s Restaurant on Saturday morning at 8 AM. Governor Barnes will be the featured speaker at the annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner held by the Chattooga County Democratic Party this Saturday at 6 PM also at Pop’s.
