AM1180 Chattooga County Radio reported yesterday on the progress that is being made at the Lyerly Dam Bridge. Workers have continued to make progress on the bridge, despite the heavy rains which have caused the river level to rise, but they have had to adjust their work schedule some.
Garrick Edwards with J.B. Trimble, Inc. who was awarded the bid for the work on the bridge, told Chattooga County Public Works Director Lamar Canada that on Monday workers had to move from working at the bottom of the bridge because their scaffolding could not hang off the bridge without being in the water. Workers moved to working on the top of the bridge until the water in the Chattooga River goes back down.
Canada told AM1180 Chattooga County Radio yesterday that the project is still on target to be completed within the 120 day limit given to the contractor.
