Chattooga County voters that wish to vote by absentee ballots are being urged to mail those ballots back as quickly as possible. Chattooga County Election Superentindent Jon Payne told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio on Tuesday that the ballots were not received by county election workers until 12:38 yesterday afternoon. Workers with the registrars office worked well into the night on Tuesday to make sure that all ballots would be in the mail by today. Payne stated that the printer did not mail the ballots out until Monday despite the fact that officials with Chattooga County had sent the ballot to the printer on July 21st. One suggestion to ensure that your ballot arrives in time to be counted is to mail it back from the Summerville post office.
