Due to a difference between beer and wine ordinances between the City of Summerville and Chattooga County, stores inside the city limits of Summerville which sold alcohol to minors during a sting conducted by the Chattooga County Sheriff`s Department, already have their beer license back, while stores in the county will have to wait until a hearing is held next Monday (July 20th).

A total of 29 stores were targeted during the two-week sting operation conducted by the sheriff`s department, during which 15 stores were found to have violated the law. The stores located in the county could face a possible two-week suspension of their beer license for the violation. The Chattooga County Malt Beverage Board will meet Monday (July 20th) at 6:00pm, at the Chattooga County Civic Center in Summerville, where the hearing will take place
