Floyd County officials have arrested a man who they say acted as a professional bondsman, taking money for signing a bond without authorization.

Larry Ray Lemming, 62, of 405 Reeceburg Road, was arrested by Floyd County Sheriff’s deputies around 4:15 p.m. He was charged with violation of the professional bondsman law.

Sheriff’s office warrants stated that on March 2, Lemming signed a bond for a man at the Floyd County Jail for compensation without having the approval of the sheriff to act as a professional bondsman.

Lemming remained in jail Tuesday night on $1,350 bail.
