Emergency personnel was dispatched to a residence on McCord Meadow Lane in Cedar Bluff late Monday night, in response to a 9-1-1 call, reporting that an individual had driven his vehicle into the lake.
Two Centre firefighters who were fishing nearby were among the first on the scene with Cedar Bluff Police Officers quickly arriving to help pull the unresponsive individual from the water – and to begin CPR.
The victim was transported to Cherokee Medical Center by ambulance where he was stabilized; he was then transported to Redmond Regional Medical in Rome where his condition is unknown at this time.
The exact details surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
Cedar Bluff Firefighters, Deputies from the Cherokee County Sheriffs Office, Cherokee EMS and the Cherokee County Rescue Squad also responded to the scene.
The vehicle was recovered from the lake by Fagan`s Recovery Service with the assistance of Cedar Bluff Firefighters.
