A Floyd County man who bowed to witnesses after setting fire to a vehicle at a home on Collier Road remained in jail Monday evening, reports stated.

According to Floyd County police reports:

Danny Elmer Hartline, 46, of Old Dalton Road, poured gas from three gas cans over a 2008 Volkswagen and then set it on fire. Witnesses said he made a bowing gesture to them before he returned to his home with the gas cans.

Police arrested Hartline at his home and found the three gas cans there. Hartline is charged with arson, criminal damage to property and theft by taking.
