A Marietta man was killed Tuesday morning in a wreck on Taylor’s Ridge in Chattooga County.According to Chattooga County Sheriff John Everett and Georgia State Troopers, 55 year old Larry E. Barnette was northbound in a pick up truck and lost control of the vehicle. When he tried to jerk back on the road, he rolled onto the passenger’s side of the truck and slammed head on into a Lincoln Town Car coming off the Ridge heading toward Rome. Barnette was ejected from the truck during the accident.  Chattooga County Coroner Earle Rainwater pronounced Barnette dead at the scene.75 year old Bonnie Montgomery of Summerville was driving the Town Car and had to be airlifted to Erlanger with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening.Traffic was shut down on Highway 27 from around 7 AM until almost 9:30 AM on Tuesday morning.  Summerville Police and Chattooga County Sheriff’s deputies assisted in routing traffic around the accident.
