The mayor and town council of Mentone, Alabama are struggling with the issue of cabin rentals in the scenic town.
The mayor, Bob Hammond says that the town does not want to discourage tourism – but some residents are complaining that they don’t know who is staying next door to them from week to week. The problem is rental cabins have been built in residential areas in the town and there is no ordinance regarding how long those dwellings can be rented.
Mayor Hammond stated that the council is looking at ways to remedy the situation.
