Mrs. Grace Lee Blackmon, age 89, of Trion, GA, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Floyd Medical Center.

Mrs. Blackmon was born July 23, 1922 in Alabama City, AL, daughter of the late Claude Hennon and Maggie Florence Lively Hennon. She was retired from Riegel Textile Mill where she was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Mrs. Blackmon was a member of the East Trion Church of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Blackmon; son, Paul Blackmon Jr.; brothers and sisters, Lucille Cochran, Raymond Hennon, Estelle Edwards, Frankie Hennon, Denny Hennon, Mable Ratliff, and Junior “Bug“ Haygood; grandchildren, Steven Blackmon, Leah Marie Beene; great-granddaughter, Alexis McKenzie Bramblett, and a daughter-in-law, Teresa Blackmon.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, James Mitchell Blackmon, Willie Ray Blackmon, Roy Franklin & Anna Blackmon; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Jean and Arnold Steward, Bonnie Ruth Bryant; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; a special friend, Christine Owens, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 in the Chapel of the Mason Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas Maxwell and Rev. Gary Howell officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jim Chasteen officiating.

Pallbearers will be Randy Steward, Tim Blackmon, Travis Burkhalter, Jason Blackmon, Cody Beene, Tommy Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Baker, Jeff Blackmon & Great Grandsons.

Mrs. Blackmon will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p. m. Friday, January 6, 2012.
