A doctor received what some might consider a "slap on the wrist" for his role in the murder of Darlene Roberts, a former worker at Temple-Inland in Rome.
Robert John Schiess III pled guilty to kidnapping charges and received a sentence of 20 years in prison. However, he’ll only spend three years behind bars, and with time already served, he has just 15 months left to go.
Barbara Roberts, who was convicted of the murder, will be sentenced August 29th and could face the death penalty.
