A 15 STRAIGHT MONTH SKID OF NEGATIVE REVENUE NUMBERS HAS JUST ENDED FOR THE STATE OF GEORGIA.  REVENUE COLLECTIONS ROSE BY ONE-PERCENT OVER MARCH OF LAST YEAR… THE FIRST POSITIVE SIGNAL ON COLLECTIONS SINCE LATE 2008.  GOVERNOR SONNY PERDUE SAID "WHILE WE ARE ALWAYS CAUTIOUS ABOUT READING TOO MUCH INTO A SINGLE MONTH’S REVENUE REPORT, THE MARCH NUMBERS ARE CERTAINLY ENCOURAGING."  THE STATE’S REVENUES WERE BOOSTED BY A SURGE IN CORPORATE INCOME TAX PAYMENTS AND A SMALL INCREASE IN SALES TAX COLLECTIONS.
