There has been speculation in the past about a discount "dollar" store coming to the Town of Lyerly, but it looks as if that may be a reality.

The Summerville News reported this week that Harold Ragland, Lyerly General Superintendent stated that a retail store is looking to open in the downtown area of Lyerly near Hammond Street.  According to Ragland an official with the retailer looking to open the business in Lyerly said that they were waiting on environmental reports, but that the new business is a "sure thing."
