As of Thursday Chattooga County will have a new Sheriff and County Commissioner.  A ceremony was held yesterday afternoon at the Chattooga County Courthouse in the main Courtroom as officials were sworn into office.

John Everett will take over duties as Sheriff on January 1st and Jason Winters will take over as County Commissioner.

Kathy VanPelt Brown, Tax Commissioner, Lan Cordle, County Clerk, Earle Rainwater, County Coroner and Jon Payne, Probate Judge also received their oathes of office and will continue in their respective jobs.
