The logo for Georgia Northwestern Technical College was revealed Friday as the next step in the merger between Coosa Valley Technical College and Northwestern Technical College.

 In September 2008, the state board of the Technical College System of Georgia voted to merge the administrations of 13 of the state’s 33 state technical colleges. McDaniel will serve as president of the merged college, and Jeff King, interim

The consolidated colleges plan to officially open as Georgia Northwestern Technical College by July 2009.

The Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools granted approval for the merger in December 2008. A SACS-COC substantive change committee will visit the colleges in April for confirmation of the merger.
