The new Chattooga County Commissioner and Sheriff will be sworn in today at a ceremony slated to be held at the Chattooga County Courthouse at 2 PM.  Jason Winters will be taking office January 1st as Chattooga County’s sole commissioner.  Winters defeated one term incumbent Mike Dawson in the Democratic Primary and went on to defeat Republican Charles Black to win the seat.

John Everett will be taking office January 1st after defeating incumbent Ralph Kellett in the Democratic Primary.  Kellett has held the office of sheriff in Chattooga County for 17 years.
