Chattooga County has a new State Court Solicitor. Local attorney, Sanford "Buddy" Hill was sworn in by Governor Perdue on Thursday of this week as Chattooga County’s appointed solicitor. The job was left vacant when former solicitor, Tim Perry resigned from the job to run for State Court Judge.
State Court has been at a stand-still since the resignation of Tim Perry causing a backlog of cases. State Court Judge Sam Finster told The Summerville News this week that he would like to see the back-log of cases taken care of in the next three months. Finster said that several factors might come into play in trying to catch up on the back-log of state court cases and that his three month goal was not "set in stone."
