AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio spoke with Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters on Monday.  Commissioner Winters said that the county is about two weeks away from being able to reopen the Lyerly Dam Bridge.  The commissioner stated that the county has been able to save a good deal of money on repairs of the bridge, and that by not having to build a new bridge the county has saved an even larger amount.  Winters said that he believes the repairs could keep the bridge open for up to ten more years.

Winters also discussed upcoming free garbage disposal days that he plans to hold in the county.  To hear the complete interview with Commissioner Winters, tune in this afternoon at 12:45 PM and once again this evening at 8:10 PM for the Newmakers Interview Program on AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio.
