With the announcement by Dr. Dwight Pullen that he would be leaving the Chattooga County School System at the end of his contract in June, the Chattooga County School Board will appoint an interim superintedent as the search begins for a new superintedent for the school system.

Pullen made his announcement on Wednesday of this week to a group of school principals.  Pullen has stated that he will work with the interim superintedent in the transition period.

Chattooga County Board of Education Chairman Eddie Massey said that he appreciated the service of Dr. Pullen to Chattooga County’s school children and felt that he would find success wherever he chooses to continue his career.

Dr. Pullen told The Summerville News, "“It is time for me to move on and let the board go in the direction it wants,”
