The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department continues to offer a free service to county residents that will alert them when a major event is happening.
During the heavy rains and flooding of earlier this week the Nixle Alert system was activated sending out text messages to user who had signed up for the service and alerting them to the weather and road conditions. On Wednesday the Nixle Alert system kept people up to date on road closings and school delays.
