State Senator Jeff Mullis along with former television star and current Ringgold City Councilman Randal Franks are looking for places in Northwest Georgia that may be of interest to Hollywood movie producers.

Mullis, a Republican who represents Chattooga, Walker, Dade and Catoosa Counties in Northwest Georgia also serves as the head of the Northwest Georgia Development Authority said at a meeting last week that spots to film moview could be a "niche" that Northwest Georgia could fill.

Franks, a Ringgold City councilman and former TV star who played along side of Carrol O’Conner in the TV series "In the Heat of the Night" agreed with Mullis and said that anyone that knows of potential movie sights in Northwest Georgia should contact their local chamber of Commerce.

Chattooga County Commissioner Jason Winters told the Chattanooga Times Free Press over the weekend that “The biggest thing we need to do is to get it together so (the sites) can be ready to go."
