As unemployment numbers climb toward double digits in Northwest Georgia, Northwestern Technical College is fighting the trend with a job fair.

Northwestern will hold its annual event on April 20 from 9 a.m. to noon in the 500 Building Cafeteria on the Rock Spring campus. Career opportunities in the industrial, health care, human service, and computer and office technology fields will be featured for students entering the workforce and former graduates who are currently out in the working world.

“We have commitments from dozens of employers across Northwest Georgia and all of the Tennessee Valley to be in attendance,” said Don Foley, director of public relations and marketing at Northwestern Technical College. “From hospitals to transport companies, opportunities may be available for a lot of people.”

If you are a graduate of NTC or a current student, job fair administrators ask that you attend the event, dressed for a job interview with several copies of your up-to-date resume in hand. If you need help with your resume for this event, or would like to have someone review yours, call Northwestern Technical College at (706) 764-3510 and ask to speak with Career Services.

Spring quarter classes at NTC are already under way. Summer quarter classes begin July 7. For more information, go to www.NorthwesternTech.edu.
