The second Tuesday in November voters in Chattooga County will go to the polls to decide on the special local option sales tax (SPLOST) for education.  The funds from the tax would mean a new high school for Chattooga students and a new gym for Trion High School.

With the approval by the Trion City Council last week of the SPLOST, the measure was assured to be on the ballot this fall.  The SPLOST will be a continuation of the current 1 cent for education which puts Chattooga county’s sales tax rate at 7%.
