Residents that are not registered to vote in Chattooga County have one week to register if they wish to vote in the November General Election, Chattooga County Election Superentindent Jon Payne told AM 1180 Chattooga Radio News on Tuesday.
At this time if you are registered to vote you can vote by absentee ballot. Under a new Georgia law, anyone can request an absentee ballot and they do not have to give any reason. Under the old regulations certain circumstances were required to receive an absentee ballot.
If you are not registered to vote you can go to the registrars office located in the old McGinnis Drug Store building located just south of the Chattooga County Courthouse and register to vote in time for the upcoming election.
