Lt Governor Casey Cagle praised last week’s ahead-of-deadline activation of enhancements to the Open Georgia website which provides even more information for the public on how taxpayer dollars are spent. Most notably, the public can now view vendor and professional contracts.

The Open Georgia website, created by the Georgia Senate’s Transparency in Government Act passed in the 2008 legislative session, already included spending data for state salaries, travel expenditures, and professional service fees.  Today, the site now includes state spending data on vendors and contracts awarded across most state agencies.

To view the new data on the website, go to, then click on “other expenditure information."
